Funny how we all walk around thinking our version is "the version".
Our truth is shaped by memory, emotion, and the story we choose to tell.
We rewrite the script to survive or to justify how we responded to a situation.
Our understanding may be honest and still incomplete.
"What really happened" becomes what we felt, what we feared, and/or what we needed it to mean.
Separate what you observed from what you concluded, then leave room for another account. Listening does not require abandoning your experience. It may help you understand more of it.

Which parts of my story are observations, and which are my interpretations?

What could I ask to better understand someone else’s perspective before defending my own?

What might my version of the story be leaving out?
